Major Investment News!!

GSGC are proud to announce a further investment of £750,000 in a new state of the art irrigation system for Greens, Tees, Approaches and Fairways.

We are renowned for our course condition with probably the best greens in the area, and already guarantee you will not play a better conditioned course locally.  However, we never stand still and are constantly striving to move the club forward investing and raising the course to even higher standards, giving you the golfer the best possible golfing experience all year around.

What does the new irrigation system mean for the course and you the golfer? It means beautiful Greens, Tees, Approaches and Fairways all year around. We are a chalk based course which means that we have exceptional drainage during the winter, and with fairway irrigation beautiful lush playing surfaces in the summer, giving you top quality golf 365 days a year and maximum value for your membership.

In addition to investing £750,000 in our new irrigation system, earlier this year we invested £500,000 in new green keeping machinery, bringing our total investment on the course to £1,250,000, no other course in the Berks, Bucks & Ox area has invested this much in its future showing why we are the No1 club of choice.

Become part of the exciting future at GSGC by joining as a member.  Our membership is nearly full with only 20 places left and once they are filled entry will be closed, so don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to become part of our great club.

New Member Testimonials

Wobbly

At long last I have found time to write  to tell you (as opposed to simply telling you in person)how impressed I have been by the way you personally have given me so much assistance in getting to know members and in becoming involved. I have belonged to various golf clubs from time to time and have never previously encountered any such attempt to integrate new members. I was also impressed that when there had been a slight administrative problem (in no way caused by you) that you took steps  to ensure that it did not happen again.

Last week when I brought my friends (including George Rothschild and Richard Wellesley) as guests they were highly complimentary about the whole atmosphere of the club and the friendliness of staff and members.

Many thanks for your efforts.

Peter (June 2017)

A belated message to say how much I appreciate you and your other colleagues efforts in making me feel so welcome since I joined Goring & Streatley GC in June 2016.

I have joined two roll up groups and the members are very welcoming and friendly. The course during the summer was in excellent condition particularly the greens and I hope to play a lot more golf in 2017.
With very best wishes to you and everybody at G&SGC for Xmas and the New Year.
Kind regards  Stephen Welch

Firstly, just wanted to thank you for helping me to integrate into the club and in particularly introducing me to the Saturday roll up. I have enjoyed my first few months at the club and looking forward to playing in some competitions. I am looking to sign up for the Goring knockout cup and also the Chudley Trophy.

Keith, just a short note to thank you and the team for welcoming me to the Club this year.

Following 20 years as an active member at Oxford City (Southfield GC) from 1981 (and a then a 15 year break!), I joined G&SGC in April. I play regularly Saturday mornings and midweek evenings during the Summer and have been welcomed unconditionally. From my perspective and in particular, the areas of note are:

The Course: It has been superb all year. The communication and the updates from Matt Aplin are helpful and his enthusiasm for the prep. and presentation of the playing surface and the wider 'course' is appreciated by Members.

Pro Shop: Great to have dedicated shop and Pro support.  Matt W's support for juniors, advice, comms and support team are a real asset.

Members: Men's and Ladies - great camaraderie with fierce competition.
Comps: Well organised and varied formats.
Halfway Hut: A real turning point this autumn with more reliable opening, range of refreshments and tidy rest area.  Along with the Social events and newsletters etc the team should be proud of the club and its ascendancy.
