Whilst visitors to the Club are most welcome, we do have a number of guidelines which should be respected (it is no less so for our members).
ON THE GOLF COURSE
The Club acknowledges that golf fashion trends have changed and will continue to do so as the popularity of golf continues to grow throughout the world. The Club therefore expects that everyone who plays the course is dressed in clothing which is deemed appropriate to, and designed specifically for, the sport.
If you are unsure of any of these standards please consult the Club Secretary/Manager or a member of the Club’s Management Committee.
Note: Soft spikes are neither required nor recommended by the Club.
WITHIN THE CLUBHOUSE
Ground Floor Bars
Members and visitors are requested to wear smart casual clothing at all times. Footwear designed to be worn without socks e.g. boat shoes and sandals are permitted in hot weather. Golfers coming straight off the course may wear golf shoes in the Centenary Bar but are requested to remove any headwear, wet weather gear and make sure they change should their clothing be wet or badly soiled.
First Floor Restaurant
Society Lunches – smart casual avoiding wet weather or badly soiled golfing attire.
Society Evening Meals – Jacket, shirt & tie/ roll-neck. Society Organisers may seek relaxation of these rules from the Secretary/Manager.
Private Functions – Smart Casual
Sunday Lunches – Smart Casual
Formal Club Functions – Jacket, Shirt & Tie unless specified otherwise by the Club Captain or host for the evening subject to agreement by the Club Captain.
Note: The Club reserves the right to request any person disregarding or abusing the guidelines on this page to withdraw from the Course or Clubhouse.
On the Golf Course
Mobile telephones must not to be used on the course but may be carried in the golf bag (switched off) for Health & Safety use only in the event of an emergency arising during play.
Within the Clubhouse
At the discretion of event organisers mobile telephones may be used in the Restaurant. On the ground floor mobile telephones may only be used in the Roy Mason Bar. We ask that ring tones be silenced and individuals keep the volume of their conversation to a level that does not interfere with others relaxation. At no time may a mobile phone or indeed the camera be used within the confines of a locker room.
Disabled guests are very welcome. We provide special facilities at the rear of the Clubhouse for disabled guests to use to enable access to the first floor restaurant.
All players must abide by our Buggy & Course Safety Policies which can be accessed from the links below:
Golfers please note that there are purpose built winter greens on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th and 17th holes. These are defined as wrong greens and players must take relief, without penalty, in accordance with Rule 25 - 3b.
When main greens are in use in the winter relief must similarly be taken from the temporary greens on the other holes (these are marked by white lines).
